So, the most important thing is that you need to have installed the codec for the intented AVI file, for example, if you encode the video with XVID, you have to have codecs for XVID installed. The other one that works is Microsoft Video 1 or Video for Windows at the maximum quality it's a VERY OLD codec, but it may sufice for tracing, test it and see if it fits your needs. Through the years I've used many codecs, and the only one that worked correctly was the now old XVID, but even then MMD was a bit picky. I don't know if MMD (at least 9.31 圆4, wich is the one I'm using) have a file size limit, and when reached, it doesn't load the video anymore. until a certain EXACT frame (it always stops in the same frame), on wich it trows the infamous error message. All went well, and MMD liked the video file.
If your HDD is mechanical, and is slow, maybe it doesn't feed the video data fast enough to MMD, and in some point it trows the AVI error.įor example, for an MMD video that I'm doing, I've used the very famous UtVideo codec to encode a background AVI file for MMD.
